Chocolate Truffles Recipe

  • 1 cup of dates (pitted and chopped)

  • 1 cup of almonds or 1/4 cup of almond butter

  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil

  • 1/4 cup of coconut chips

  • 3 tbsp of cacao powder + extra for the truffle coating

  1. First, soak the dates in hot water for a few minutes and pat them to dry. If they contain stone, remove it.

  2. Toast the almonds in a pan for about two minutes, or until you smell their nutty scent. If using almond butter, skip this step.

  3. Use a food processor and grind the almonds for a couple of minutes, then add the coconut oil and the rest of the ingredients.

  4. Create small bite-size balls and roll them in cacao powder.

  5. Chill in the fridge for a couple of hours and enjoy!

The texture is creamy and smooth, but if you want them to be more firm (like regular chocolate) then place them in the freezer for a while before eating them.

Cacao truffles are a tasty way to enjoy the health benefits of cacao. They’re great for kids and adults alike, and they can be altered by adding ingredients such as nuts or dried fruit. Enjoy!
